Student to Teaching Artist

I was a Marwen student for four years during high school. I took classes in everything from painting to printmaking to clay sculpture. It was here that I was first hired as a commissioned artist and as a freelance artist. I made a greeting card for Marwen, participated in two years of Art at Work, was part of their student council helping put on events, and was a two time participant in their capstone program - Marwen Lab. After my first year of college, I returned to Marwen transitioning into the role of teaching artist.

Sculpture Course

I assisted a sculpture course for students from sixth to eighth grade in 2016. We used a wide variety of materials including plaster, cardboard, wire, clay, and paper.
Students made several projects during the course and picked their favourite to go in the end of term exhibition.

Drawing Course

I assisted a drawing course for high school students in 2018. We went on a trip to the Museum of Contemporary Art, had guest speakers/teaching artists, made our own sketchbooks, and improved basic technical drawing skills.

In 2020, I assisted a drawing course for high school students that focused on the creative process, ideation, and conceptual drawing.
